Default Staining on leather door panel above armrest

Hi

When I bought my 2008 SC430 last year it had yellow staining on the leather door panel above the armrest. I kicked up a stink and the dealership worked some kind of magic and it all but disappeared.

Since then the stain has returned and whenever I use leather cleaner to reduce the yellow colour it seems as if it is taking the colour off. See photo:

Just used leather cleaner on it and the yellowing is not too bad but the leather is now darkening.

Any ideas? Has anyone replaced this piece of leather trim?

Thanks

Steve

Do a search on painting the seats. There is a "paint" that is used to restore cracked and discolored seats. The same procedure can be used on the door panels. I'm not sure from the picture but which color leather do you have?

There is a product on the market called Leather Magic that I have used on my Allante with great results. Just Googled Leather Magic and it should come up. Good luck.

Like Moonstruck, I have also used LeatherMagic on my Allante. I've been very satisfied with the results. I have approximately 150,000 on it, so an occasional touch up and it still looks good.

Broomvies, I cut a small piece of the leather off where it folded behind the armrest on the Allante and sent it to Leather Magic, and they sent me back the product. It was a perfect match.

The panel looks light enough to be ecru but the armrest looks dark enough to be faded saddle in color. The ecru color has a perfect match with SEM's paint you can get here:
Amazon.com: SEM 15003 Phantom White Color Coat - 12 oz.: Automotive Amazon.com: SEM 15003 Phantom White Color Coat - 12 oz.: Automotive

It's their Phantom White Color Coat. Not sure whether they have a replica for the saddle interior leather color if that's what it was originally.

I don't remember anyone even mentioning renewing their saddle colored interior, so I'm not sure if that color exists. (My saddle interior could use a little touching up.)

If the SC is a 2008 Pebble Beach Edition (which it looks like it is with the dual-color interior), then the leather
color is Ecru (inside the armwell) and the darker color is Camel:

Thanks guys!

I appreciate the help.

Looks like I shall be ordering the Ecru Leather Magic Leather Dye & Recoloring Kit.

I will post an updated photo once I have used it.

NAmVet68 - Looking on the Leather Magic site they do not have a Camel color in their Lexus color chart.

Do our cars have a build sheet or a place where all of these codes can be found?

Will the VIN decode the interior color?

GM car place this information on the drivers door.

Just a thought!

This might help...found in another thread.

It is directly under the yellow and black stickers, but on the surface that faces directly to the side of the car.
Try opening the door, then step back two paces, and you should see it.

Sorry for the confusion ...I got the Camel/Ecru interior combo from some of the press releases: http://jalopnik.com/290381/2008-lexu...-beach-edition

The only way to be absolutely positive is to use the build codes as Bgw70 suggests....
Good luck.

I checked my VIN - when I decoded it it did not provide details on the trim.
