What kind of wheel. I am looking for spare wheel and tire from recycling yard. No sc430 spares to be found. Any other compatible substitute? Thanks for your help!

Just use the specs that bacardi11 mentioned above and you should be good. There are several Toyota spares that fit (I got a Supra TT spare), I believe that there are Camry spares that fit also. (I don't know which other ones fit.) Another member used an Infiniti spare. So the manufacturer of the spare is not important, just match up the specs.

Lafayette. Where do you live now? Did you know Jim Erny? He owned the music store in Houma for sometime, before closing. He and I grew up as neighbors in Lafayette.

I have 4 TRD chrome rims that came with my car. They are the proper fitment for the sc. These won't fit in the spare holder but would make for a safety plan on a long trip in the trunk. Better than nothing. I've posted them in the classified and willing to make a deal and even possibly deliver. More info if anyone is interested.

Bought 2002 SC430 6 wks ago. Immediately replaced run flats with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S-3. I have debated about getting a spare but (1) Don't like the idea of taking up the already limited space with The Spare. (2) Purchasing a spare for this car seems to be neither easy nor cheap. (3) I have a 1997 BMW M3 and a 2002 Lexus LS430 both of which have real spares that have never been touched and for all I know now either don't have any air in them or maybe are dry rotted.

With all that background, here's my question. Amazon has a "Slime Safety Spair" with 12 volt inflator-forces air and sealant into tire in approx. 7 minutes. $40. Of 98 reviews, almost all are "positive".
In your opinion, is this a viable alternative or is this a piece of junk?

Twice I had puncture and both time I was glad to have spare tires to changed to because they were all pretty big hole and slash that I know the slime repair wouldn't have able to seal it. They were both non repairable and were replaced. Most of time when you actually had a nail in tire you either have a slow leak or no leak unless you pulled the nail out, with these you have time to get it repair which happened to us most of time.
With that being said, I would carry a spare tire with me however inconvenience may be.
One more thing, those can repair which inject sealant into the tire, in most cases it plugged up your valve stems and you would have to replace it later. Some people that still uses the TPMS would need to fork out bigger chunk of money to have it replaced and reprogrammed.

Dunno if it is our crappy roads or the way I drive but I've had four flats over the years and was very glad to be back on the road, no muss, no fuss, in 10 minutes cuz I have a Supra spare in the trunk. For one nasty blowout that compromised the sidewall, it was nice to drive on the spare for a couple of days while Tire Rack delivered the replacement.
Only bad time was a HUGE pot hole that blew out both right side tires. Habeous had to bring his spare, so then I was running on two spares!
