I want more details! What's under the hood, gearing, LSD etc and I imagine if it makes it into production there might be three models: 6 cyln 350 and 350F and perhaps an 8 clyln 5.0 F. $60k, $89k, and about $120k ish ... ???
Here's a full scan of the C&D article (courtesy of Lexus Enthusiast). As a previous owner of a SC300 and SC430, I'm tempted to rejoin the Lexus SC family if the powertrain rumors end up being true.

So basically it sounds great and it's going to cost over $120k out the door.
It's quite nice but not growing on me yet, I guess I need to see it on the road. Besides, some of us have cars that are far better looking than the stock ones and it's paid for.

First mod would be to do something with that ugly grill. Head on it looks absolutely awful - outsized and just plain nasty. The only angle it looks ok is on the side. Maybe a nice Jag or MB front bumper/grille would bolt on

OK...now if it comes out i am compelled to buy it just to save it from being BUTCHERED!
That may be too harsh a word.........desecrated?
I am guessing of course but it would have a V6 Turbo or maybe a breathed on V6. I suspect north of $80k starting. The original SC was a relatively expensive car. A V8 or 4 Cylinder Turbo seem very unlikely.
...in the Car & Driver article (actually a couple of paragraphs), it states "in the range of 80-95k", so that might be an idea of the starting point

Yep what I thought - 5.0 V8. The V8 turbo for the F version is new but necessary to catch the competition. Rotten potatoe ??? What ?.? Well members on the forum have certainly made mods that go way beyond the OEM look. I'll keep working on more mods ...
Looks like an incredible car, but for most of us I suspect it will likely come down to the MSRP. In my opinion the RCF is really incredible, and not completely out of reach at around 75k. But these cars are so incredibly reliable that paying a high price for a car you love and plan to have for many years does make some sense. Like Greg said, will the new sc be 70k, 90k, or 120k? With the RCF being so awsome, IMHO, I would go for the 'budget' RCF instead if of a higher priced sc. But my 2002 sc is in such nice condition I'm not even considering something else really..
I don't really like the new lexus vacuum cleaner / predator look. Something is lost in the translation. Where is the elegance? The luxury? I don't want a Japanese BMW, I want my lexus.
I know what you mean. The last elegance was the LS430 then they started following the crowd(mercedes and BMW). lexus used to be about luxury and comfort now they just worry about the outside body look. The newer Lexus looks cheap inside with less wood grain. Don't get me wrong the new look is starting to grow on me but I feel like Lexus IS not focusing on what they used to before which was comfort and Luxury
I have to agree.....the grill would be the first mod if I bought one. I wouldn't be suprised if the production unit came with the more classic full mesh F-Sport style grill.
