Default rear view mirror shakes violently

After a rough winter here in NJ there are a ton of pot holes and I think I may have jolted loose the rear view mirror. It now shakes so bad I can't even look at it. It makes me dizzy. It seems like it is loose where it connects to the windshield, not where the actual mirror connects. I took off the smaller of the two covers but didn't see anything I could tighten. It also doesn't appear that the actual mirror comes apart. Any suggestions on this? I have to point it away from me at night, it's like a strobe light! I did do a search and didn't see anything on topic. Thanks!

There is a Lexus ASB out on the mirror. It's a small spring that needs replacing and the actual part is ...I forget...15.00 or something like that. Easy to fix I now know, but not before I allowed my indy shop to charge me 50 bucks to replace it!

Edit-- Correction: The part is 87806-24020 and it is 1.86. Charged me 54.00 labor.

No prob. I am pretty sure I saw somewhere the trick to removing the mirror. I am sure some of the guys will chime in how to do it. Good luck!

Try this link:https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...ew-mirror.html. I did bent the steel plate and all is good.
