Default Pie Plate Problem

Thought it was about time to pull the winter wheels and tires. Might as well clean up the stock wheels. Boy, they are HEAVY. Moving them around on the bench....
Oops.........

Not the smartest thing I've done lately.

ChillSC there are lot more options out there. Perfect reason to upgrade to any aftermarket rims.

Thanks for the offer. I purchased my '02 in December, bought snow tires and wheels and really haven't driven it too much since. Two things that I noted, I didn't like the cup holder (problem solved with a good travel mug) and I don't like the 'run-flats'. Horrible ride for an unneeded performance improvement.
This would prompt me to get some new tires except for the fact that the current treads are brand new. I'll probably wait until next year to change over as I was able to pick up a new set of 'pie-plates" for near nothing. I would prefer the twistees, but I'll probably just wait.

The only real difference between the pie plates and the twisties is the bolt on cover. Maybe you can just purchase the covers for the twisties. (Full disclosure: I've never looked.)

The twisty covers were sold as a set to replace the pie plates. They are hard to find OEM now but when I was looking a few years ago they were available on EBay in Chrome finish. Sewell still had them but rather pricey, I lucked out and found a dealer in St. louis that had a box of them in stock and was cleaning house. I still have them and should probably clean house too.

A friend picked up a 2002 sc430 in November. He has the twisties, and I do prefer that look.
I just think that it is more of a look that we are used to. I kind of see what the designers were
going for, just a little too much for my brain.
