Maybe I wasn't clear, I use the dielectric grease on all the rubber components on a connector just to help seal out moisture and make unplugging stuff in the future easier. I agree with bgw70 it acts like an isolator so would not put it on the metal matting surfaces.

Except when used on mating electrical connectors. Much of the corrosion that makes connectors hard to remove or increase resistance in a circuit over time comes from the metal to metal contact (with microscopic air/moisture gap). Dielectric grease prevents this while allowing for the mated connectors to make a good electrical contact. If you look at the contacts under a microscope you'd see small rough hills & valleys in the metal. Those "scrape" against each other when you mate the connectors which cuts through the grease and you get a good electrical connection but the rest of the grease prevents air and humidity contamination. That's one reason it's sold as "bulb grease" in some parts stores.

Default Finally done

Finally got my valve covers changed. I will update this post with pics soon with the red valve covers. They look really nice!

The trick is to make sure to disconnect the fuel injector clips. I didn't do this the first time and it was a pain. Overall the project was relatively easy, just a lot if time and work. I found oil in my number 8 spark plug suggesting there was a leak. I'm so glad I changed out the gaskets. Now no oil leak and clean dry plugs! I made sure to torque to spec as well..
