New Wheels and Tires SC 430
New member, Purchased 2002 SC 430 in September had vibration at about 60-65 mph figured it was tire balance, Wrong bent rim so had it repaired still had slight vibration but it was tolerable but not a Lexus ride. So decided I would get new wheels and tires. So after reviewing post on the forum I decided I would down size to 17" wheels and run 245/45-17 tires. Was going to purchase the Continental DWS from Discount tire for $157.00 each. Not real costly and got good reviews. Was ready to make my purchase and stumbled on a deal Discount Tire was having on e-bay they sell a Yokohama Tire which I believe is exclusive to them its a YK-580 it has a tread design similar to the DWS. I run this tire on another vehicle I own and have been happy with it. Local Discount Tire store list it for $147.00 I got it for $110.00 with free shipping. So purchased four of them. I also brought American Racing AR 95 Estrella wheels from local dealer for $115.00 Each so total out of pocket for wheels and tires $900.00. Ordered new lugs and valve stems for $20.00. Had tires installed today at local Discount Tire store for $64.00 total out of pocket $984.00. The ride home was quite, smooth and vibration free. Painted my calibers silver last weekend since you would see them now that the original pie plate style wheel would be gone. Next up new exhaust tips.

I ran those Discount Tire-specific Yokohama tires on my old supercharged Honda Del Sol & my wife's Acura TL for years (they've been around for a while) ...outstanding tires, especially for the price....and they go on sale often. I was very happy with them.
The only thing I didn't like about them was that they didn't make a size for my F-150 truck! (I bought another model of Yokohamas for it, and they were great also- just a bit more expensive). When It comes time to replace my tires, they will be one of my first choices... I've been a Discount Tire fan for over twenty years...always had good service from them.
BTW...these are the tires he is referring to (in stock SC430 size... unfortunately, some of the other popular sizes may not be available in the YK 580). There are a number of reviews of this tire by SC430 owners on the site, and they all like them:

Although I down sized the wheel to 17" by going to the 245/45s as opposed to the 245/40 I pretty much maintain the same tire diameter 245/40-18 are 25.72 inches tall the 245/45-17 are 25.68 inches tall so it does not effect the speedometer reading. So the new wheels and tires fill the wheel well pretty much the same, the wheel is just an inch shorter.

The link for discount tire direct is www.discounttiredirect.com this is Discounts online store. Like I mention in my post they had a listing on e-bay and when you checked out and entered a pro-mo code they took $100.00 off the price. It was a good buy. Watch their site there seams to always be some sort of special going on.

dk62vet, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your acquisition.
I run the YK580s on my car and the YK520s (previous version) before that and have had good performance out of them. I'm sure that you will be pleased with them also.
