I turned 68 in January so I'm a youngster.

Being that we have a home in Bradenton and another in Fort Lauderdale I guess "On the Average" I also live in Naples.

Actually our pit stop when driving between the two homes is I-75 mike marker 111 in Naples.

We both retired 3 years ago. We bought our first house in Bradenton in 2006. We worked in Ft Laud and spent weekends in Bradenton. Reason for Bradenton was that's where our daughter and grandson were planted

My wife and I are both private pilots and we made the trip via our plane every Friday night returning Sunday night. We sold our last plane about a year ago so now when we trot between the coasts we drive. We are in process of getting the east coast house ready to put it up for sale as we spend 95% of our time in Bradenton. Bradenton is much more laid back when compared to Fort Lauderdale.

OK, I'm only 68. However I got my SC from my Dad when he passed. He drove it daily and was 92. Went from driving to Heaven in 8 days..........was a lucky guy. I'll see some of you old timers at Sturgis next year for the 75th. I'll be the one on the Blue SERK.

Wow cool and thought provoking fact.

So must be the eldest so far then. Your birthday is Father's day in Taiwan and the year of the Munich Pact. This was the year that the War of the Worlds was announced on radio by H. G. Wells!

I'm from the Year of the Spuknik.

So I told my wife that I would not buy another car unless I LOVED it. We looked around for two weeks, about every luxury car dealer in the Raleigh,NCV area. We went to the Lexus dealership after a Volvo mechanic told us that Lexus was the car to buy.
I saw the SC 430 and told the salesman that it looked too small. He said get in and drive it. I drove it two blocks and told him that this is the car for me.
My wife bought a SUV.
I still love to drive the car and at least once a week someone tells me how good it looks. Except for changing the timing belt and water pump I have done nothing to it except changing the interior and backup lights to LED.
I may buy me another car but I will probably never get rid of this one. My son and grandson both said they want it when I can no longer drive.
I'm still riding my Harley so I don't think I am ready to quit driving a car very soon.
You totally Rock!!! Keep on going until they take your keys ;-)
For the rest of us, just remember when you took their keys, so when it happens to you...what goes around comes around!
God Bless those who paved the way for us to enjoy our freedom!

How quaint....an old guy thread.
I'm 56 but feel 35. Not slowing down anytime soon.

I don't have an SC430 but I did have a SC300. Plus, I been around here since 2001. I can post in any thread. I'm an OG.

Guess I'll step in here and admit I'll be 77 come this July. They say you're only as old as you think you are, but my body is starting to tell me that isn't necessarily so. While slowing down, keeping up with four grandsons keeps me busy and feeling wanted. I'm busy enough that I never miss a day driving and take good care of my car. Just finished a 10 -hour project insulating the garage door in the new residence.

My father is 77/78 with a 2005 SC430. He took it back to the dealer twice to "have the granny chip removed". He's mad he can't smoke the tires. I have a 2004 SC430. Like father like son!

bocksofrox, just tell your father to reset the ECU, that will help. He can also do a manual type shift in the 2005, though that is probably not what he wants to do. Putting it into PWR mode also helps. (BTW, welcome to the forum.)

Here's one method of resetting the engine ECU without losing your seat and stereo settings:

Perform the following procedure:

1. Get in your car and insert key. (It doesn't matter if you close the door or not.)
2. Turn the key to the on (not start) position.
3. Press the gas pedal to the floor.
4. Hold the pedal to the floor for five seconds, then turn the key back to the "off" position
(don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
5. Wait 2 minutes.
6. Remove key.
7. Done

Also BTW, related to this thread, I'm only 58, so I'm still middle aged!
