Talking SC430 timing belt kits 2015

So im a new member...and im looking for a high quality timing belt kit. So far ive seen a few options from AISIN that look decent, and a kit from Sewell that is oem but expensive. The hydraulic tensioner seems to be the major difference between the two full kits. Help deciding between the two would be apprectiated. My sc430 has almost 88k miles on it but its an 02 so the timing belt is now 13-14 years old. Thinking about adding in the drive belt, plugs, and pcv valve while im in there. Any suggestions?

I purchased mine from Toyolex (no affiliation) a couple of years ago.It came with everything needed & some.I paid $303.95 then, so I'm pretty sure the kit is higher now, but it was a very complete set. There are probably alot of options out there,so just compare & see who offers the most for the money. Also check the warranties for the parts

I used a kit from Toyolex too when I has a LS and it came with everything even the little
Toyota timing belt sticker.

I have posted a number of times about the Aisin kit. Aisin is partly owned by Toyota. I think it is about 25%. Many of the engine components under our hood have the Aisin name on them. (master cylinder being one of them) The belt is Misubishi, just like OEM. When I had mine changed I compared the part removed and the new part. I couldn't tell the difference. It is my understanding that the Aisin kit contains the exact same OEM parts that Lexus installs in Japan. The current price on Amazon for the TKT-021 kit is $227.00. It is currently out of stock for Prime but you can get right away for about $250.00. I got mine last fall for $170.00.

found this kit which is aisin and is cheap but its marked TKT-001 and says without hydraulic tensioner under fitment notes. will it work?
nvm it was out of stock and i prolly want the tensioner aswell. so tkt-021 seems the way to go, thanks

The short answer is yes. The TKT-001 is the same kit without the tensioner. My opinion is, I would not do that. I'm not sure why that kit is available. Maybe the tensioners are more robust than we think and don't have to be changed as often. Still, while you are in there I would change it.

You can buy the TKT-001 kit and a separate tensioner, if you don't want to wait. When I look at the TKT-021 and 001 kits, the difference in the pictures seems to be the tensioner adjuster, not the hydraulic tensioner itself. Can someone confirm?

Note Sewell has a sale on the timing belt kits good for about another hour when they close for good at midnight Central time. I just added that to my last order with the drive belt which I will need in about another 5 years.

I do not think that is correct. The 021 has the hydraulic tensioner. I know the 021 kit I bought did.

the 001 kit did not have the tensioner, so i went with the 021 kit, thanks for all the replies. gonna do plugs, pcv, and drive belt while im in there. then its on to the fun stuff like trying to fix a couple of speakers, replacing a fog light, and hopefully getting the car ready to do a lil modding. got the car used and it had a few sneaky issues i didnt catch so im tryin to get that stuff squared away before i start changing things.

I suggested to buy the TKT-001 kit + tensioner, since the TKT-021 kit is out of stock.

Called carid, part tkt-021 was not in stock...

Ordered a gates kit from rockauto.com, along with hoses, belt, thermostat, tranny filter and valve cover gasket set, complete.
$310.

Good luck!

I wonder what the shelf life is of these kits. I was thinking of buying these parts and just hanging on to them. With inflation, it might make sense to buy one now even if not needed for a few years.
