Question Recommendation on Two Issues, Pa-Leese!

I haven't been active on this forum in a while, but I can see from the threads that the spirit is alive and well...great to see!

Your collective advice on two issues, SVP:

1) The GPS disc on my 2002 SC 430 was taken while my car was being detailed. I'm going to replace it, but I'm confused as to the proper disc. I've looked on eBay and the price ranges considerably. New v. used, what update, etc. It also seems like there's a break in dates from one model to another. Also is the fix simply a matter of getting the right disc and putting it in the reader in the trunk, or are there update discs, etc?

2) At the same detail "job" described above (I know who got "jobbed" alright!), the small (about 1" x 3/4") cover located on top left of the shifter platform (between the "P" for park, and the ashtray) turned up missing. Mine was flat black in color. Any thoughts on how/where to replace that part?

I didn't notice that the disc and the small cover were missing until a day or so later and, naturally the owner of the detail shop denied any responsibility.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Mike

The latest disk for the gen 2 or 3 has a U8 on the right side. See photo below. Both of these part numbers will work because it is the same disk.
Toyota 86271-GN23W-13
Lexus. PT219-GN23W-13

I believe the cover you are referring to is the the manual shifter release, used in a no power situation, no key, towing etc.

Thanks, Bgw 70! So, I just put the disc in the trunk unit on my 2002, and that's it?

And, yes, that's the part: manual shift release cover. Any clue where to find this obscure part?

Yes, eject the old DVD and insert the new DVD.

Check with a dealer on the part. It should not be more than $3.
A salvage yard would have it too...if they have an SC.

There are Lexus on line vendors.

This is one of them and you can search for your parts using their detailed catalog, or else you can call them:
