The master cylinder pressured up properly when the key was turned on, the brakes also felt good. I visually checked the unit for leaks, after it was pulled and saw none. The VSC lights were off.

I am one blessed and happy dude today!!! But I did not feel that way this morning.
I woke up this morning thinking I might just go purchase a new MC for $1k today. It is just wrong that a MC would cost that much! Anyway...
While I was drinking my coffee this morning I decided to checkout craigslist to see the SC430s I should have purchased instead of this one...I came across a 2005 SC430 parts car less than an hour from my home.
I called the salvage yard and they said the car had 90k and the MC worked just fine. Before I went there, I stopped by the Lexus dealer to pick up the motor mounts and while I was there I dragged my leaking MC to let the parts guy and any techs take a look at it.
They did and confirmed that a rebuild kit would not fix the leak. They also told me that it is rare for an SC430 to have a MC go bad.
Here is where I was blessed, the MC I picked up and installed works Great!!! And the salvage yard sold me the complete unit with booster and ABS for....drum roll... $100
The master cylinder was installed and I bled the MC first then the entire brake system. The brakes function great and no leaks!
I now seem to have the exact problem you have on my 03 SC430. Did you find that they make a rebuild kit. Seems it would be cheaper than a used Master Cylinder. Need Help.

Hey azz, yes they make a rebuild kit, 04493-30330 I hope this works for you. Does yours leak down onto the exhaust?
You might want to check the brake solenoid valve rubber o-ring. Mine was leaking, but Lexus doesn't sell the o-ring by itself. It's better to take the old o-ring to a parts house and let them size it to one they have in stock. My local Dallas repair shop did this for me, but I don't know the size they found that worked.

Check me on this but I believe the solenoid is shown in the second picture on the first page. Is that correct? You mean the solenoid was removed and a $.50 o-ring fixed the leak!
If that is the case, I am going to open my old master cylinder and do an inspection.
Yes. Just the o-ring replaced. However, since I didn't do it myself, I had to pay labor, etc, but it was much better that replacing a complete master cylinder.
Here's a weird bit of info - you cab buy a new solenoid valve from Lexus, but it is priced higher that a new master cylinder - one that includes a new solenoid valve.
