I am sure Sewell has been a thorn in the side of the other Lexus dealers for quite some time. Sewell had a part for about a hundred less than my dealer wanted, so I bought the part from Sewell and had my dealer install. I'm sure the other dealerships don't like someone undercutting their rip off prices, but as a consumer, I love Sewell!
I'm really not sure about them being a thorn in their sides. There is another major Lexus dealer in the DFW area that also sells parts on line and while their prices are higher than Sewell's price, they are fairly close, at least for the parts that I've ordered. The odd thing about that other dealer was that when I asked them to install a part for me, the price that they quoted for the part was more than double what they listed on-line.

One question that is still unclear to me is whether we will still be given our CL discount. (I PM'd Sewell but they haven't responded yet but then again I think that they have M-F business hours.)

If the new website will offer a similar discount, would be great. But highly doubt it. But hopes are high.

Does anyone know if Sewell is still a CL sponsor?

Well, for all of us that want to take advantage of this discount before it stops, what things should we get that are not Toyota available parts (as you can easily get 25% off Toyota parts online).

I recall getting the sensors for the fuel vapor, a few parts for the timing belt were lexus specific, cup holder, rear struts.

What other typical service parts are Lexus specific?

Maybe the mods could work out a new CL Discount with Lexus of South Atlanta, Carson Toyota, Lexuspartsnow, or some other Lexus Authorized Dealer? Really seems like a shame to lose such an amazing resource for quality guaranteed parts (and the awesome discount, of course)

I got the email from Sewell also. so far there is nothing that is definite that says the discount is going away. Why is everyone assuming that? Is there some information out there that I do not have. If so, please post it.

Default myLparts.com

myLparts.com is quite comparable (after 10% off via code 'CL5') to Sewellparts especially for me as I paid sales tax to Sewell. This may work out for you too. Check it out.

Cheers.

myLparts ships for free above $150. Also, I paid sales tax (8.5%) to Sewell being in Texas. This being said, I sometimes went to Sewell when I wanted quick shipping and fluids......myLparts does not ship fluids and heavy items (like body parts etc.). So I am going to miss them....just sometimes though.

You forgot to figure in our 10% CL discount (code CL5) and our free shipping. Hope to do business with you soon. Thanks!

Hi Gang

I had the opportunity to speak with Jeff at MYLParts and I price out 2 timinig belt /water pump kit for my SC and RX and these guys were only $139 difference to Sewell parts

If I didn't live in CA and you take out the tax , these guys are about $70
More which is really not a bad deal

In short , theses guys have great deals and also a lot easier
To get help . I call Sewell the other day and it was not as easy
getting help

I will be doing biz with these guys

Sewell just responded to my PM today. Here is their reply:

<<<<>>>>
We are trying to assure the CL community that we are still here for business, but we don't have the luxury of our website. We can still price parts and accessories for CL members that make a very good deal and with regards to cheaper shipping, we can get pretty close to where we were before. Just call 214-353-2850 for pricing and part information.

Thanks,
Sewell Parts Team

I wonder that's the actual parts department in their dealership? If so, I could just place order with CL discounts and go pick up.

PPL is closer to me and their price is pretty competitive as Harold said.

Since Sewell has several locations in the Dallas area, I wonder if they'd allow you to pick it up at any of their locations or just the one near Love Field?
