Looks like Sewell is indeed closing. That sucks.

I use their schematics and part numbers all the time. I've ordered a handful of parts from their site. Def the best resource around for our vehicles. This is not cool...

Before I discovered Sewell, I used Lexus Parts of South Atlanta. Prices are not bad, and the schematics are useful:

I got an email today from them that states the following:

Beginning March 1, 2015, we will close our SewellParts.com store and will no longer accept online orders placed through this website. On this date, the SewellParts.com site will redirect to Sewell.com/Order Parts where you may complete a parts order form for any of our genuine manufacturer parts. .... If you have any questions about this change, please contact us at lexusparts@sewell.com.

(There was more in the email but I just copied the important parts.)

Maybe Sewell can comment on this themselves (since they are forum members and sponsors).

The online store is not at the dealer's parts department. They are separate entities. I know this from last time I went to their parts counter and I couldn't get the same price as online and the guy told me this.

Bummer I better see what I should stock up with on. There prices are wholesale parts. My local dealer told me that repair shops can enroll and get these prices. I didn't ask about any rules etc.

I have been thinking about doing the rear sway bar kit.

Just went to their sight and it is no longer listed.

So its business as usual, just under a different website name. My guess is that this is franchise agreement related. They have had to end the separate entity "sewell parts" and run it out of the main business "sewell"

I am sure Sewell has been a thorn in the side of the other Lexus dealers for quite some time. Sewell had a part for about a hundred less than my dealer wanted, so I bought the part from Sewell and had my dealer install. I'm sure the other dealerships don't like someone undercutting their rip off prices, but as a consumer, I love Sewell!

Put in my order, total $530.00. Got new floor mats, etc..

Am sure will come in mid-week.

Goodies!
