Default Anyone taken off Xpel plastic protection?

I am interested in using the Xpel protection (temporarily for two road trips that I will do this year). I don't want to put it on permanently as, I don't like the way it looks (seam, etc). Most of my driving is relatively short distances and have not had a problem in the past with rock chips, etc with my local driving. I have a roll of the xpel which I am considering using for these two trips, but I want to make sure that taking it off when I am through won't harm the paint or finish. Any thoughts
