I would not do that, the loading and unloading of the transmission would give me heartburn.
If you are coming down the hill on I 70 from the Continental Divide to Denver you might save a few pennies.
I would delete 3 of my smokey burn outs a month to save fuel instead of shifting the transmission back and forward

My understanding is that shifting to neutral when coasting burns MORE fuel that keeping the transmission engaged If you coast with your foot off the accelerator, the car should turn the injectors off (so zero fuel consumption). If you put it in neutral, it has to burn fuel in order to idle...

My understanding is that shifting to neutral when coasting burns MORE fuel that keeping the transmission engaged If you coast with your foot off the accelerator, the car should turn the injectors off (so zero fuel consumption). If you put it in neutral, it has to burn fuel in order to idle...
