Thanks again. I think the same GS fronts fits our SC as well and without modification too. I'll do some research.

Looks like you are right. The KYB part # is same for 2002 SC430 and 2000 GS400 front struts on www.shockwarehouse.com.

I also checked shockwarehouse & the rear bilstein sport for the 2000 gs (that they have listed) , is the same stock # listed on my invoice also.

Strange thing.... The Megan Racing toe in adjuster is listed on their website as for late years GS430/SC430, not early years. It appears that the MRS LX 0371 is being
marketed at other sites as being the right one... http://www.vividracing.it/megan_raci...4388271542.php
I emailed Megan to see if they can confirm if they have one for the 01 year.

While I am in there, I would really like to replace the bushings on the control arms, but I can't find replacements for those that have any good reviews. Daizen seem to last about a year or two.

Any suggestions?

Just been on the GS site.. Tons of information. I am assuming that the bushings are the same on GS as the SC. Anyone get any of these Japenese parts for our rigs?

To replace all three bushing sets, I have these parts listed:

48725-SE100 Set of 4
48725-SE110 Set of 2
48725-SE130 Set of 2
48725-se120 set of 2

Looks like $180 shipped from Japan.

Thoughts??

..I'll definitely look into these. I've been reading one of the other threads that other members having been doing upgrades with their suspension, including bushings & sway bars. I think most have been going with another brand,If you decide to go this route, please keep us informed.I just bought another vehicle for daily use, so I probably won't tackle this mod for another couple of months, but definitely want it done by the spring/summer

Thanks for your comments. Sounds like Megan is not all that good. I will take that advice and buy the battle gear.

The reason that I need to upgrade all this is that I bought the car (that had been aligned) that had the inside of the tire with cord showing and outside was untouched. I thought I was smart, bought $800 of tires, had my guys align it and it did the same thing.

This time, the adjustment bolt (eccentric) you are talking about was locked in place. We can't get it to move, so I am wondering if it has issues and has moved over time.

I also have read that the bushing get bad over time, and you can see the age on mine. Just makes sense to get new rubber pieces. Seems odd that Lexus does not sell them in US but does elsewhere.

Way I look at is that I spend $400 on parts and save $400 of tires. I got 10k of miles on this pair.

Also, I am looking for a spare tire if anyone has a lead on one.

Again, thanks for advice.

I'm no alignment expert but my meager understanding is that it takes a huge toe-out to cause inside wear, which is unlikely. Isn't the negative camber a more likely suspect for the OP's tire wear problem?

I know what you mean kjcole. The toe in adjustment is at the bottom corner of the axle, so it is creating both toe in and negative camber.

[QUOTE=mademedoit;8886489]Well I know what you mean about the bolts being on tight, I had to use my jack handle as a breaker-bar to get the lower bolt that held the suspension strut to move!

If you can't get it to move for adjustment how will you remove it? Torch?

And as far as the bushings, well that is why I took this pic in first place, my car was squeaking in the back and I was looking for the answer...and here it is]

Yep, that looks a little worn.

Aha! Thanks for the clarification. I haven't studied the rear suspension that much (still stock and tire wear patterns have been excellent on min). But, about time for me to change the rear shocks so this thread has been helpful since the GS fitment works.
