I got the fig bushings but what do you mean isf caps? Are you talking about the bushing clamps?

Can anyone confirm the rear end links needed?

I haven't done it yet, but from what I have read you can use the factory bushing clamps for the SC430 even with the figs bushings. The ISF clamps have to be modded to fit the SC430. For the end links I got the end links for the ISF because the hole size is larger for the ISF sway bar when compared to the SC sway bars. The ISF end links are shorter too so works great if your car is lowered an inch or more. This is from what I have read, I'll only be installing the sway bar in a week or so and can confirm then.

Default 17mm end link hole dia?

Can you use the existing SC430 Rear Sway Bar End Links with the 17mm sway bar? Are the holes at the end of the 17mm bar the same diameter as the stock 12mm bar ones?
Thanks

Why upgrade?
The stock sc430 has a 12mm rear sway bar which results in body roll and reduced handling performance.

Where can I buy the sway bar and how much does it cost?

You can get the complete kit from Sewell for approximately $136 which includes the bar, bushing, and brackets. You will need to register using you CL username to qualify for the discount. You can find the kit at:

http://lexus.sewellparts.com/accesso...2002/2893.html

How does the bar impact handling and performance? In my opinion, the bar reduces lateral movement significantly from the rear. In fact, I used to rock my butt from side to side while at a traffic light and the car would wobble. Now it does not move at all.

I also feel like the car is faster. I cannot explain why. Perhaps the is so much less flex that more energy and power gets to the ground.

The car just feels more in control and responsive in general. Is say it is a noticeable difference although not significant.

How does the bar effect ride quality? I feel that the stiffer bar might be transmitting more bumps into the cabin slightly, but I'm not sure and that could be just in my head.

What is required for installation? The install looks simple with only six bolts to loosen including four 12mm and two 14mm.

I tried to do this myself using ramps, but I could not even budge the 14mm. I suspect if I had a better angle to create leverage it would been doable. Maybe a metal pipe on my breaker bar would have helped too. I ended up taking it to Merchants and paying $140. I know I got ripped off but it was cold and I just wanted it done.

What are other similar mods to improve handling?
I am also installing front and rear Moog end links. According to CL members, these improve handling. Along with the end links I am putting a 26.6mm front sway bar in from a 2000 GS300, which is supposed to firm up the front and be a direct fit. I bought poly bushings for the front which are should be better than rubber.

For steering response, I am going to run Daizen steering bushings. Lastly I just bought a Carbing Strut Tower bar which is also predicted to firm up the front.

I'm going to get it all installed soon and I can let CL members know how it goes. The isf sway bar has alone made a nice difference and I hope the additional mods do as well !

Txfm
you can not use the 430sc links the hole are to small. You can use the isf links. use the isf bushing caps mod. to fit. Use the Fig isf is300 poly bushings. Remember if you lower the car 1" or more you must change the links for sway bar to work properly.

you can't use the 430sc links. the holes in the bar are larger then the 430sc holes.

Default Rear Sway Bar Torque Specs

I'm guessing that this has been posted previously somewhere, but can someone please advise the torque spec for the rear sway bar connection to the end links?
Thanks

Default suspension mods

bacardi11, LexBrett and SlvBullet, need your suggestions and expertise on suspension mods.... my wife and I share vehicles with '07 SC430, '05 Honda Civic Hybrid and '15 BMW X1

Our SC430 has never had any modifications since we bought it from Pohanka Lexus back in early 2007. past month all I've done was plasti dipping.... I've been patiently reading post and comments from everybody here to learn more about mods before I get my feet wet. My question to you guys, we still have the run flats and we intend to keep them cause my wife is mostly the ones driving the SC and I only get to drive them at nights when I go to casinos to play poker. At nights the vast roads of highways here at DMV are wide open and the only time when it's fun to drive around. I want to do suspension mods for our SC and make it fun to drive for her and me but will never race with it. I guess it's called street suspension mods. I've been to TM Engineering websites about Daizen, hear you guys talk about Fig ISFs and so forth. To be honest I'm a novice in search of your experty tips and suggestions to save me time, $$$$ from buying the wrong parts and the guessing part. Thank you in advance for the suggestions and yes I wanna start with just the suspensions and probably do the exhaust mods in the future. Pls list the parts and where I can get them.

Hey guys.

Just got the ISF rear swaybar from sewell and the ploy bushings from figs.

I can now see that folks are talking about some caps? What exactly do you mean? Does anyone have a picture of this?

Also people are writing about moogs links? Can oem ISf links be used? I dont want to buy cheap china links from ebay.

I have also looked at figs website and saw these adjustable links for the IS: http://shopfigs.com/v1/index.php?rou...&product_id=80

Will they fit our SC430 with the ISF rear swaybar?

My car is running on airsuspension so it will definitely be lower than stock so i guess new links are a must have for me.

I don't have plans at the moment to exchange the front swaybar. Sounds like the heavier JDM is not easy to come by. But when lowering the car i am also considering the adjustable links for the front. They are made for the SC430: http://shopfigs.com/v1/index.php?rou...&product_id=85

I already bough the SPC front and rear camber adjustment kits. So i guess i'm pretty set? The car is not setup for track use but i want to use it on the street with almost the best comfort i can have while lowered and without inner tire wear etc.
