OBX Headers for SC430

OBX Headers for SC430
Has anyone heard of the OBX brand? They make headers for the SC430...saw it on E bay and they are selling for around $350...which is like half of what the other brands cost.
Just wondering if anyone had any experience with them because I am doing headers on the SC430 next.
Thanks!

I have done a couple installs on Camaros and one on a Cadillac CTS-V. They are decent for the price. Never had any major fitment issues, but usually needed a little tweaking here and there. For the price they are hard to beat. Without seeing them (the SC430 version) I can't really say. With headers it's all in the details. How much research did they put into the length of the tubing, how do the pipes meet up at the merge inside the collector, what kind of collector is used, how thick is the mating flange, how much weld material is there inside the tubes at the flange meaning how much restriction, the guage thickness of the tubes. I have seen 1 3/4" headers with so much weld material inside the tubes at the flange that they were more like 1 5/8"-1 1/2", step tube headers where the steps weren't inline and just welded up anyway so there was a wall instead of a step, pipes that meet at the collector and extend out at different lenghts.

I can confirm, if something is not right after the install, it will cost you about 800-1000 dollar to get alle the parts off to acces the headers again......it is a hell of a job. I did it last month and they did it within 9 hours.

Its not that I want to go cheap on the part, its just PPE seems to have issues as well. Ive read various types of issues including not being able to turn the wheel all the way at turns at higher speeds. And just like Humphrey said its expensive to re-do something...I think part of the blame will go to the shop for not verifying everything is correct before letting you go on your way but the header build quality matters too. The local performance shop here charges 500-600 for header installs on cars they have done before. They indicated that they have done an sc430 before and several 300/400s so that makes me feel a little better.
Does anyone know which header provides more HP gain?

Note that the steering problem with the PPE headers was fixed by grinding down the corners of the sterring nuckle. Knowning that you can have the installer do that from the get go and also road test a bit faster on a rt hand curve. Added 18 whp (dyno) and sounds great.

I have the PPE headers now for 3 months and no problems.
Before the install, I checked with PPE whether the headers are worry free or not. They guaranteed me that alle the problems were solved with a redesign.
Performance increase (with racecats and megan downpipe): 24 bhp and 25 Nm
I really noticed the power increase.
I do not know how much the gain is with the obx headers.

My install was about $1250. I called three different shops and that seemed to be the going rate. It would be hard to believe a shop would do this for $500 or $600, given that the install is very labor intensive.
I did not have fitment issues with the steering knuckle. I beleive PPE may have corrected the issue. But I did get a check engine light, P0430 and P0420, which is most likely due to the increases airflow. Others have not got the CEL, as far as I know. I'm experimenting with O2 sensor spacers, but the CEL keeps coming back.
I have not done a dyno, but PPE estimates 20 hp on the website. The power on my car has improved through the entire RPM band.
The sound from the headers is also fantastic.
If you have the money, go for PPE, but make sure you know that the install is not cheap.

You must have one of these if you do any performance mods to your SC!
