I think some of you may get a kick out of this. I was sitting here enjoying my morning coffee, checking my email. Then I saw this list for top ten worst cars. The car enthusiast in me was curious and even though I've clicked on these many times before for a good laugh, I was shocked to see our sister car on the list.

The SC430 was put on a Top ten worst cars of all time list. The reason was not for quality, but because 300hp was apparently not enough when it cost $61k or so. LOL. Pretty sure this car is fast even by today's standards.

Its laughable. The target market was never about High horse power ratings . It was comfort sporty look and feel Race car No Great car YES

In my opinion it is one of the top ten cars of all time! People who own them love them!

SC430 Born A Classic... some cars are fasster... some are better looking?...but they cant drop the top..(for me I am an art deco fanatic, so this is art in motion and has no comparable contemporaries)...i wish i had kept my 55 and 57 Chevy two door hardtop...i will be buried in this one... WWII

But you have to admit the choice of run-flat tires from the factory
combined with the sc430's springs and shocks was a big fumble.
Did any of the engineers test drive the setup on "real" roads with
bumps ? Lexus should have gotten this part right from the beginning.

Ha ha! My husband and I watch Top Gear (the BBC version) - they did a whole show on "the worst car in the history of the universe"...guess what won? That's right - the SC430!!!!! WHAT THE $&%%#*??? They said only "elderly Americans" would drive "such a car". Wow.

I love mine so much it didn't even bother me - just had to share, bc it's SO RIDICULOUS!

Here's the thing - I keep getting letter after letter from Lexus dealers saying they want me to sell my SC to them because of demand. Whenever I stop by any Lexus dealership and the salesperson knows I have an SC, the first thing he says is, "we have a lot of people who have asked us to source your car for them - trade it to us and it will not last 3 days on our lot so we can give a you a pretty good price" And this keeps happening repeatedly over the last few years. So the market has spoken about the appeal of our old SCs no ?

I get the same letters every 3 months . I think its a standard practice to drum up business

So that confirms it then - it has to be the 2005 SC cos we both have one. Never got those letters for my 06 Acura RL, nor my 01 Prelude before that nor the other half's 04 RAV4 and also not the 10 MDX. Just the SC ...

I get the same letters for all 3 of our cars all at the same time every few months. ISF, IS250, and SC430...its just lexus trying to get you to trade in and buy or lease a new model. I even got one today for the December to remember event for all the cars with vouchers listing our BBV + $3000 to trade in and take advantage of one of their new models.
