Default Opinion- Best Wiper Blades

Ok so it's getting colder and wetter here in the Chicagoland and it's about time to change my wipers. Just wanted a public opinion from the pros; What wiperblades do you choose for your SC430? Which companies do you tend to avoid.

PS. I have the Bosch Icons.. they didn't last me more than a year and did a mediocre job. Before that, just the OEM.

I just get PIAA super silicone wiper inserts, usually available from Amazon. Fit the inserts onto the OEM blades and they work fine. Do that for all my cars usually.

The OEM Toyota/Lexus wiper blades by Denso are my choice. They are not cheap but great swipe and no chatter at all.

No matter what brand I go with, nothing seems to last as long as OEM blades, and that goes for every car I have. I always apply Rain-X and my blade seems to last even longer.

OEM Lexus wiper blades are coated in graphite and are superior in my opinion. Every part of these cars has been thought through and built with the highest level of quality.

Reviving an old thread... by yours truly... haha. Another year past and wipers need a new change. Thinking about it going back to the OEM, Can anyone supply a part number for passenger and drivers side, please. Going to make some calls looking for the official Denso/Lexus/Toyota brand. Thanks in advance.

Unexpectedly, a cheap brand which I got from Advance Autoparts has been on my windshield for at least two years now and still does the job OK. And I have the OEM blades with new PIAA super silicone inserts just waiting to replace the AA blades when those eventually give out. Do not get Costco Goodyears. They flop around too much and do not sit well on our windshield.

Lexus OEM part numbers for the wipers (for the SC430):

85212-0R040 - ~$42
85212-53061 - ~$55

Prices are dealer retail prices.

It appears the set of two is available on Ebay from a Lexus dealer for ~$50 shipped

In my personal opinion, I tried an aftermarket set from Pep Boys (about $50 total), they barely lasted through one winter driving season (installed in December, got real bad by April). I wanted then to just get a "refill", turned out they no longer carried the refills, forcing you to buy another full new set.

At that point, I decided to pay the extra cost and get original OEM. They may not look so great (do not look modern at all, have that "spider" look to them), but at this point I'll take function over form. No more aftermarket junk for me.

Good luck

I always have my Toyota parts friend order Lexus OEM wiper inserts for me, no need to replace arms unless their damaged. I do this for both our SC430 and our GS350. $17.00 for the set.

OEM do a great job and no chatter.
