I do like the sc430's, Ive owned several sc400's , but they are a little tame in my opinion, and if I did buy one id really like to know what options there are in terms of upgrading the power and looks.

I really like the vertex body kit, and some deep dish wheels would really fix the looks department, but what about power.

Anyone running headers or turbo or anything interesting on these cars?

Any available bolt on kits yet ?

Thanks guys , looking forward to the responses

I installed PPE headers, deleted the resonators and added two Borla mufflers. Adds a noticeable amount of horsepower and torque. It's not substantially noticeable, but I love the exhaust sound. Not too loud, not too quiet. At WOT, it sounds really mean though. Your mpg's will suffer though.

I added about 45 whp with the PPE headers and a custom exhaust and 3rd cat delete. Am about to swapmthe diff for the Supra Tt 3.76 LSD. Now I have better performance, sound and still confort. Plenty enough fun for me (babby boomer...)

Hi SlvBullet, have you a dyon sheet printout for that HP, as that's touching the lower powered supercharger upgrades kind of power.
I think if all work you described that gave a decent 45 BHP then I might go down that path myself.
I too have the third cat off and a free flow exhaust build by the guys that do exhausts for the Aerial Atom car but my BHP has not upped an inch, and MPG is similarly unaffected either way. If the headers are the final piece of the jigsaw than I might just buy a set !!

I'm also considering the header install, but I'm having trouble finding a local installer with a fair price. I called three dealerships, and two indicated that they don't do aftermarket parts and the third quoted 4000 for the install!!

I'm really the most intrigued by the supra differential swap. It's not really the power that's lacking in our cars but more so the conservative gearing . Hoping that Silverbullet will provide a nice write up with pics of his install!!

By the way, what results do you get by deleting the third cat? I have a cold air intake, cat back magnaflow exhaust, and I feel the only big restriction left are the headers!

Default Power and extremes

If you want power i would recommend a wet nitrous system. It the best bang is you stayed at 100 or 150shot, and still be reliable. The motor we have in our cars i've pushed it to the limits back in 2003-6. I had a gs430 and i did a 150shot wet. The motor can take it even though our rods are thin compare to the 1uz. The fuel wont lean out, even if you had a fipk kn intake and exhaust work done. I ran with 150shot for a year with no issues. Then i got greedy and went up to 250shot. She didnt like that. That lasted a week. It seems the motor can handle 500hp, anything over i would upgrade the rods at least.
