Top Failed When Opening
Looking for some suggestion of my failed convertible top. The trunk opened, I though the front latch unlocked. It made noise but wouldn't open. I though it was little stuck so I get it some forceful help, which I normally wouldn't have done it but I had a windshield guy waiting to install a new windshield.
So the trunk is open. The top is extended but partially closed now sitting above where it should be , it is now resting on 2 metal pegs, one on each side. I think I heard a metal to metal creak, crack or break.
Any thought or similar experiences?
I'm looking at worse case scenario, it is a 2004, is it time to sell with a broken top or would I need to get it fixed first?
When I damaged my top on my Sebring I was quoted thousands, but a local shop fixed it for about $600. The SC430 top is much more complicated, Is it only dealer serviceable

Not really understanding situation. "extended but partially closed"???? Will it move? What will it do or not do? At what point does it fail? Was there some accident or trauma to the car that required the new windshield? Posting a picture might be worth 1000 words.
