This can easily be done by making a male/female mold out of wood using 3 panel piece of wood and you sandwich the mesh material with weight/pressure the "mold", trim the outside to fit and find a way to mount and all done! Ive done this a few times a very long time ago. I dont prefer thing grills as they look cheapish. Just emblem delete and chrome trim the horizontal lines. Looks clean and aftermarker. Its simple, cheaper and better looking IMHO

I've seen a few custom DIY grills done for our SC and all look like crap. The only one worth getting is the Blitz, but it cost a mint, if you can even find it anymore.

I just removed the chrome lower trim and emblem and painted the center the same accent color as the rest of my car. Looks good for now.

I just painted the upper & lower grill surround body color (Black Sapphire Pearl) and blacked-out the top & bottom horizontal pieces of the grill itself. I'm thinking I might possibly "chrome" the four center grill pieces... (they are the stock grey now), I just haven't decided how to do that yet, or even if I want to....

Pretty easy to do, and I think it makes a huge difference in the way it looks....I think it makes the front of the car look much more refined. I never liked the gaudy chrome grill surround on the SC430.

Looks outstanding!

I wish I could do that to mine, but you can't remove the "L" logo on the 2006+ models as you can with the earlier ones... and painting over the the logo makes it look worse!

I left the chrome accent on the hood & the lower grill. Then painted the grill matt black, to match the bumper inset/grill...also left the surrounding area, the same as the body color

Thank you.

I never knew the 'L' logo was fixed on the 2006+ models.
Silly question, but does the earlier grill fit in the later model?

Cheers
Steve

Very nice NAmVet68. You've a good eye for design.

No sir.. I checked into that already. If they were interchangeable, I'd do it in a heartbeat!

Thank you sir.... I spent about 17 years as a support engineer for Silicon Graphics Computer Systems (SGI - I was a site engineer for Disney Feature Animation when they were here in Orlando), so some of it may have rubbed off
