I've always been a big fan of the personalized plate, although nothing I have seen recently, including my own, beats the classic "L84AD8" in cleverness, and often in appropriateness.

I think I should amend my previous comment to indicate that perhaps the most appropriate of the personalized plates is the famous and fairly often used (once per state, of course): WAS HIS. That one looks best on a Porsche, of course.
