The only negative is that because the electronics has changed for 2010, most vendors still do not know that the 2010 is different from all other model years. I've about given up on a backup camera. The 2010 is HDD rather than DVD based and that is a problem, although that is my favorite part of the upgrade for 2010. Why they didn't include the camera is beyond me.
I looked into a backup camera that replaced the mirror for a monitor. It only required a camera in the license plate frame and the replacement mirror. It bypassed the built-in display completely.
