Unhappy sniff...sniff...buh...bye...

After almost 3 months since the claim on the SC, the insurance company finally saw the light and settled my claim. The SC was totally damaged (flood) in the Super-typhoon that hit us last Dec. Just when I was going to begin some serious mods after selling the GS in Sept. I went from 2 to none in a 3 month period. The only consolacion I have is that I get to drive the GF's GX 1ce in a while. Oh well, I'll still be lurking on the board if you all don't mind.

Good night but not good bye.

Here is a pic whe nit was 'bout a week old.

drop, made out OK on the claim. It was a real fight though. In the beginning, they weren't even going to cover it. So no complaints here.

Well, I'm highly considering going german when my lease is up in '05...yep, goin' to the dark side! I know you're probably looking at getting something very soon. I will be eagerly awaiting the new Audi A8 coming out this summer, but I'm really considering the new M5 and the Audi S8 which will both be available when my lease ends in '05. I want a nice 4 door sedan with a lot of power. I've considered the MB E55, but I've always liked the M5 over the AMG.

As for cars available now...are you looking at another sports car/convertible? The SC is IMO the best luxury roadster available for the price. Next best thing would be the MB SL500, but it costs $30k-$40k more (not worth it IMO). If you want more sport and less luxury, an M3 convertible would be a nice choice. Also, the Jaguar XK8 just received a refreshening...I've always liked that car. Anyway, good luck on your car search!

day,

Thanks for the response. I wish I had as many options as you. being on an island limits the possibilities. If I'm gonna spend in excess of $50K on a car it better have a warranty. The only dealers here are:

1. Lexus of course

Sorry for the edit I accidentally pushed the "send" button

Let me take it fronm this angle. There is no MB, Jaguar or Porsche dealer here. Audi is only by special order and BMWs take 6 mos to get. If the dealer I am hoping for gets here later this year, I'll have 1 of the first of "those" here. I'm in no hurry so if you test drive some cars in the meantime let me know your thoughts.

Sounds like you have some time to decide on your purchase. Any hints on what the 1st of "those" may be?

I would seriously consider the new Audi A8 if you can special order one. I have been researching this car for awhile now and I am eagerly waiting to test drive one. The one's that I've seen at the auto shows were beautiful and Audi's interiors are on par with Lexus interiors IMO (IMO, Lexus and Audi have the best interiors compared to MB and BMW). I think Audi has been introducing some excellent cars of late. They combine sport and luxury really well. I'll give you an update after I test drive one.

Have you considered getting another SC430 or another Lexus model? Sounds like that would be the most convenient option for you and you'll once again have one of the best made cars in the world!
