Default Your opinion of this SC430 2002

I am strongly considering buying this car. Wanted to get the members opinion and ideas for a fair price? The 100,000 mile inspection and timing belt was done and a 140 point inspection was conducted approximately 6 months ago. All maintenance records are recorded , logged. 2 owner florida car, always garage kept, meticulously kept by a Marine pilot. Let me know your thoughts...

One would really have to appreciate the modifications done to this car if you were to make a purchase. It looks clean and well maintained however. Perhaps you could use the modifications to your advantage when negotiating a price on this car. Personally it is not my taste and I would pass on it, but that is only my opinion.

I've seen 2002 with less miles and better mods for much less.

I bought my 2002 two years ago with 112k miles. Blitz body kit and exhaust, 19" HRE wheels, carbon fiber interior, and StopTech brakes for $13k then.

Keep looking...

It kind of looks like there is a fitment issue with the hood, judging from that front view. Also, something strange is going on with the door alignment or paint. The way the door and panel below it looks, it is as if the door is hanging too low. I imagine that some folks will like the customization, it is somewhat unique. You should be able to find a better deal if the styling isn't what you are after though.

I found it at a local Mercedes Benz dealership in SoCal.

It was on their lot for over 30 days and about to be shipped out for auction. They even had it on eBay, but no one bid the reserve price. I bid for it but did not win on eBay, but then went to the dealer, told them what I bid, and told them that I would take it then and there at my price.

Look for SC that won't sell on dealer lots. They don't profit from niche products like a used old convertible. Haggle like crazy and compare to online prices. If the car is on eBay, the dealer surely wants to get rid of it (because eBay charges A LOT for a car sale).

That's been on Autotrader for quite a while now ( saw it when I first started looking for an SC430 at least six months ago, I think it's been re-listed) .... If you are interested in it, the owner might be willing to do some serious negotiation.
