I was quoted for removing the exhaust manifold, since they didnt have a quote for the headers and it came out to close to $2,024.00 -_____- The guy will also give me a 10% discount since he's one of my clients, but damnnnnn.....

I think I would look some were else I can't see that crazy price.

What would be a reasonable price? 1,000 - 1,200? His quote was based off roughly 18.4 hours (which I don't think it should take that long) at $110/hour. I saw that a fellow CL member had a shop do it in 9hrs. I hope the mechanic can do it in that time frame.

I would say a 1000 tops. my shop only charges 75 an hr

Thanks for all of your input guys, I'll keep looking for a better shop. I'll post a vid when the installation is completed.

This quote of 18 h looks familiar. The suggested time needed to replace a header is for one side a bit above 8 hours, but you cannot just add the two sides, there are a lot of time savings once you work on one side already. I would understand that when doing both sides you have an hour or two more work but not double. I have a subscription with alldatadiy.com they give you suggested times for different job.

Dude, we had our PPE Headers done at JM Lexus for $747.50 and we got a Loaner for the day they had it (picked it up the next morning). They did not have to lift the engine. tony@jmcustomcreations.com

that is a good price at lexus dealership for the install. its no big deal to jack the engine up to fit the headers in place unbolt mounts lift engine fit headers in place lower engine bolt mounts back up bolt headers in place DONE

Gah! I also got another quote from a mechanic I've been taking my car to for a little while. He also charges $110/hr and he quoted me to the same amount for a 16-20 hour job, roughly. Both places said they have to lift the engine. I see that there's not a lot of room to work in the engine bay, so I'm not sure how that would be possible to install it w/o lifting the engine.
