0 flats, 550,000 miles.

Geez, never thought about total miles over a long period of time. That's like 20 times around the earth and 95% of those miles have been driving around CT, NY and NJ.

Since 2000 I'd say that I've driven approximately 250,000 miles and have had two flats that needed change-out on the road. One occured in 2002 (boat trailer) and the other in 2007 (Caddy Escalade EXT). We're taking our 430 for a long road trip this summer and in anticipation have installed the factory spare tire kit knowing that I'll never need it given the advance preparation!

Bring an umbrella and slickers and you'll be able to out the top down for the entire trip!

I had one in my SC400, and none in my SC430, driven since May of '01, but only 45,000 miles.
But I'm ready if one happens.

I hear ya Tays, there must be a name to that rule where basically "it' won't happen if you're prepared for "it"!

Counting yesterday, three in the last four months. Although one pothole got both passenger's side tires in a single incident.

I am not sure what does this survey suggest?
The quality of tires, need for run flats or kind of roads we drive?

Anyone has an opinion about Firestone tires?

Since 2000 I have driven about 500,000 miles and not blow outs and no flats. I always spend what I have to so I have good tires under me.

~115K miles, 2003 SC430 (had it since 06)

Mmmm...around 8 flats.

Just pulled a screw out of a rear tire this weekend and put a plug in it. I'm pretty sure the rims on my car are magnetized. I'm constantly picking up screws and nails in this car.

I once came home from a month away to a dead battery (no surprise there) and TWO flat tires (same side of the car) due to screws/nails in the tires.

Hmmm.... not sure how many miles my household has driven since 2000 - a LOT! 30 mile round trip to my kids school for much of that time, and 2-3 1000 mile round trips to Florida per year... One flat tire which needed changing... on our 04 Denali XL, on the way home from vacation in FL (we live in TN) - tire was flat less than 6 miles to home!

looked like an interesting poll so I thought I would bring it back to the top.

So one for me in the time frame listed.

Since 2000, approximately 200K miles on 5 different vehicles - 1 flat that needed roadside repair on a 2006 Highlander. Very sharp 2 inch piece of steel (looked like a piece of road construction debris) punctured the tire and sidewall. I jacked up the SUV, dismounted the tire and mounted the spare tire in 100+ degree afternoon sun. Muscling those relatively large heavy SUV wheels/tires on and off the car was a much harder job than I thought it would be.

Surely, I must have the lead in two flats in the same incident. Once with the SC430, once with my other car. Nothing sucks more than two flats cuz then its Jerr-Dan time.
