Default Jacking at the rear diff really ok?

So the manual of my 2007 shows the jack point in the rear center on the diff. It doesn't actually say it, but just shows a picture of the jack point.

I've always jacked at this point on my other cars but I've seen folks say you're not supposed to jack the sc430 on the diff, but my manual seems to contradict that.

I have same question . I have jacked at that point in the past and then used jack stands under some parts of the chassis.

I also saw the said diagram in the book, but have never attempted it. I always choose to use the side jack points just out of habit. Even on my other cars, I've used the center jack points.

It should be OK, I have done it because I have a long reach truck jack that is also low profile.

I have a Mazda Miata and it also specifies that the rear differential center point is a jack point.

If we are talking about a floor jack in good working condition, used on a concrete floor or other flat, firm surface (no jacking on asphalt in Phoenix in the summer ), with the front wheels chocked to prevent the car from rolling (parking brake becomes useless once the rear tires clear the ground), with the jack cup positioned in the center of the rear differential so the car is balanced - sure it is OK.

Using the rear differential as the jack point is the only way I lift the rear. It will not hurt the rear differential.

And although you wouldn't think it need be said - ALWAYS use jack stands (on firm flat surfaces) to support the car once it is raised, and BEFORE any work is attempted.
