Happy to help. Let me know when you are ready by posting a thread and I'll send you tips on how to remove the cluster in an effort not to damage it. The nice thing Lexus engineers did is label each SMD LED on the circuit board with the color coding, W for white, B, for Blue, G for Green, R for Red and A for Amber.

When I upgraded my tail lights to the 06 style, I invested the extra cost by replacing the ECU which was extremely easy. Also invest in chrome amber bulbs for your turn signals, otherwise the amber bulb stands out through the clear plastic. You can buy the pair on ebay or amazon under $10 dollars.

That looks fantastic. Unfortunately, I know my limitations and this is not a mod I could take on by myself. That is a shame because I really hate the low bright, yellow dash look. Do you think this is something I could hire someone to do? I really wouldn't know where to start though: a stereo installer? a trusted independent mechanic? I just would not know who to take it to to even ask the question. Any advice based upon the effort involved?

Yes, you can hire someone to do this work. You might look at the yellow pages for a stereo shop that installs LEDs. Also try Yelp. There is a gentleman in Texas that does this work. You can also look into Youtube by entering LED light upgrade or something along these lines. Now here is the issue. If you send your cluster out you need to ask yourself the question, " Who will remove it, how are the needles going to align to my fuel level, RPM position, temp and MPH ?" The ODO display is extremely sensitive, and you need to be careful not to crack the glass lens or bend the pins. This is important because once the needles are pulled from you cluster they must be placed exactly in the position from once they came. I faced this issue and I was thinking ahead. I took picture, but that wasn't enough. I also aligned my needles after the upgrade with the cluster connected to the harnesses from the car. If you hire anyone, ensure you can drive you car to them, or they can come to you. Don't ship out your cluster. When I made the attempt, as I stated earlier, I purchased a used cluster for $100 bucks from ebay. I successfully upgraded the LEDs on it as well. The only issue is that the LEDs used on the spare cluster were the same size (3528) that didn't give off the lighting I desired.
