65K is not a low production number.
For it to be collectible you'd need to have about 55K+ of those get totaled.

Hey the Plymouth Barracuda wasn't expected to be collector worthy when it was 10 years old either and look at the value of some of them now. And Cutlasses. And GTOs. And... you get the idea.
