New Owner ---- Don't do what I did.....
Hey Guys,
Purchased a 2005 SC 430 back in August.
Its white with the ivory interior--- fricking beautiful.
Have learned lots from reading this forum and getting to know my SC.
Well.........
My wife & I drove it from Gr Rapids, MIchigan to our condo in downtown Ft Myers a week ago last Thursday/Friday. Was great driviing around Ft Myers and out to the beach on Friday.
Our plan was/is to leave it covered up in our condo garage and have it available through out the winter for our visitis--- then drive it back to Miciigan in April.
This is what happened last eve and I am telling my embassaring story so my fellow SC friends do not F up like i did.
I always keep a California duster in the car. Last night (flew home this am), my wife was showing here engineer brother how the top goes down.
Now my rear windshield is in a million pieces!!!
I was last in the trunk with the top up--- I obviously 'moved' the Ca duster and some how it came into contact with the window when the top came down..
No one to blame.... Obvious call to Insurance company in the AM.
Just don't want anyone else to experience my self-inflicted damage these beautiful vehicles.
Thanks/Fuzzy

My local dealer told me this is not uncommon and warned me to make sure nothing is under the shade when dropping the top.
The good news may be that this is probably covered via the comprehensive coverage and most insurance companies cover glass breakage with Zero Deductible.
It's been perfect drop top days recently here in Florida.
I had washed my 3 cars today and this evening enjoyed driving with the top down and 70 degree weather.

duster under shade
I am glad you posted this . I sometimes leave soft things under my shade when top is up. I will never do it again. Thanks for the info. ( Sorry for your mishap)
