Default Broken Passenger Seat - Stuck in Recline

I love my SC430, and want to keep it another ten years! BUT... I reclined the passenger seat this weekend, and now it won't go back up. Using the release lever, I can pull it up, but if you sit there or put any pressure on it, it falls right back down again to full reclining position. I searched the posts hoping to find someone else who had already figured out what I broke and how to fix it, but can't find anything on point. If anyone has suggestions (other than taking it to the dealer to have it fixed), they would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I dont have a fix for you however you should be able to remove the side covers as well as the seat back to get a look . I remember reading a post on removing the seat back here. If you have access to service manual that would be a great source for you. If you decide to take it to the dealer let us know what the result was .. Good luck

I know this is a silly question but thought that I'd ask it anyway, did you try the motorized seat tilt control on the side of the seat.

Default Fixed

I had actually "fixed" it and debating whether the embarrassment of posting the solution was worth enduring, when you posted the suggestion / resolution. Well, Duh. The "lever" only pulls the seat up to where the electronic button last had it set. So using the electronic button to raise the seat up was the "fix." Thanks!

Glad to hear that it was an easy and cheap fix!
