Question. My sc430 is currently out of warrenty. Can I waltz into my local lexus dealership and request for them to check if it was replaced?

Thanks,

Sc0tt

You don't need to be in the warranty period for this to be done. But you can't just show up. You need to make an appointment.

The dealer was great. They did give me a loaner for about 5 days if I remember correctly. It did need the work to be done. They were very kind. It was Nalley...just couldn't remember. Hadn't finished my coffee yet... :-)

I suggest you call your local Lexus and give your VIN. They will let you know if your car has been recalled. It does not relate to your warranty. Good luck.

I have been told to bring in the SC for the Airbag recall. Should I do it?

Even though the potential for many things to go wrong with the dealer install exists, if you are like me, an AIRBAG recall is not something one can just ignore and feel comfortable. Anything safety related takes precedence.. In the end most repairs seem to be coming out alright but there will likely be some sleepless nights as you wait for the car hoping that they aren't going to damage it!

I am scheduled to go in next week and I hope to get a 2014 IS loaner. In fact I will make sure.

Mandyfig, I had mine done and had no issues with the repair. That was several months ago now and still no issues. If you have a decent dealership, you should be fine.

Thanks, mine is in. Hope to get a call today. Been there since Friday PM. I did express my concern and was re-assured that they have done them many times and so far with no negative consequence. I tool photos of the dashboard for the record. So far they have done the IS350 recall on the camgear and all looking good.

mine done too. no issues so far. Very happy. Dealer loaned me a brand new IS250 with 400 miles for 2 days. Liked the new electronics gadgets of the IS250 but I still like my SC interior & ride better.

Got a call, they got it to scan the inflator and luckily I was not part of the bad lot. No dashboards were taken out. Relief! I forgot to ask them not to wash the car! Yikes.

But all good, will pick it up later and will go with a fine tooth comb, LOL.

Picked up the SC, newly washed.

They were asking how I put in the puddle lights, they were so amazed, LOL.

Anyway no fill up just wash. Am ok with that, the dashboard is intact.
