Default h&r spacers

Hi. I was wondering if you guys could help me in determining spacers to get for my car. I happen to like the pie plates on my car. However, what I dont like is the offset. So I have determined to get spacers. I have read about horror stories on ichiba v2 spacers. I have yet to read issues on h&r spacers so I have decided to get that. I am planning on getting 25mm spacers for the front and 35mm in the rears. There is an available size for the front. But I have not seen a 35mm spacer for h&r. The only ones I have seen that are 35mm, 5x114.3 and is 60.1bore is for rav4. Do you guys think there is quite an issue in getting that for the sc430? Thank you! Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also a good site to look for spacers perhaps.

ah thanks. I figured i'd get the 25mm and 35mm set because of the pictures i have seen here in the forums on how flush it becomes to the fenders. What brand do you use?

Ah I wish I had read your reply sooner. I had already ordered and installed spacer today. I ended up with option selects 25mm and 35mm. Test drove it earlier today and I had vibrations from the steering wheel that started around 50mph and it stopped around 55ish. Im going to reinstall the spacers again tomorrow. Hopefully that will fix the problem. I was extra careful torquing the nuts too. Perhaps a bit excessive starting from hand tight to 20 ftlbs -40 ftlbs -60 ftlbs -76 ftlbs Star pattern. Perhaps I should also tighten it to 80?

Also had issues where the nuts for the spacers werent exactly getting tightened smoothly. It would jerk little by little no matter how gently I applied force around 60 ftlbs onwards. I'm sure I didnt have it crossthreaded either.

More thoughts would be maybe I should have done 40mm in the rear since it does look like the fronts stick out more.

Lexus dealers have master lock key sets. Probably your best bet is to go to Lexus and ask them to remove the old locking lug nuts and purchase and install a new set from them.

Thanks for the suggestion FLYCT. Small update on this. Went to a local toyota dealership and they removed the wheel locks for me for free. Just placed regular lugs on them for the meantime. Oddly enough on the way there the vibrations seem to have lessened quite a bit. Just a slight vibration was felt although at 60mph now. The lessened vibration has let me notice that there is also vibration coming from the rear. Around 50mph I felt my chair vibrating a little bit and it was not coming from the steering wheel.

I reinstalled the front spacers And used some wd40 on the front wheel spacer nuts vto make them tighten a little bit smoother. I used compressed air take out excess wd40 since from research lubrication does change the torque values applied. I havent yet taken reinstalled the rears nor have taken it out for a test drive.

Will update again tomorrow.

Update:

When I reinstalled the spacers this morning I checked behind one of the spacers to find out very small pieces of debris. Not very big but I would think enough to create a slight misalignment of the spacers. Cleaned that off and reinstalled. Took it for a drive on the freeway and there is no more vibration in the front/steering wheel. I tried to notice vibrations from the rear but I didnt notice anything at all.

I'll reinstall the rears again tomorrow. Possibly check the torque on the front spacer nuts again.

Paranoid android.

Have the same set up. key is the torque on the nuts on the spacers. I re-torqued them after 500 miles to make sure and I did feel a slight loosening. Had it re-torqued again after 500 miles and it was solid.

Never had vibration per se. My vibration came probably came from flat spots because the vibration will apparent in different speeds, different days. Most of the time, no vibration.

Our SC's are so picky, vibration comes and goes, most especially if you have spacers.

That’s the SC for ya! I still love to drive the car!

Just got these from Akata (vouched for by Vossen Wheels). Hubcentric. 30mm for the rear. I will be installing them this week, hopefully. Supplier says to tighten to 80lbs torque. Does that seem right? I'm debating whether I should take it to a shop that has experience (although shady) or do it myself. Either way I want make it's done correctly and no shortcuts. Not going lie... a little anxious since this could be dangerous and/or result in shakes if done incorrectly. Any other suggestion or tips? Lock-tite and/or Antisieze? Remove the brake clips or leave them (if any exist)? Sanding/Cleaning the rotors? Multiple Retorquing after a set number of miles ? Additional "Jam/Lock nuts" on the inner lugs? Thanks in advance folks! Photos to come later.
