Should I Trade Up?

If U are a collector and rich like Jay Leno, U may trade up. If U want to drive and enjoy the car, keep driving.....

Huy33....does your 09 have the lighted door sill scuff plates?
tfischer...the current iteration of the RX350 does indeed have the illuminated door sill scuff plates - front door openings only. Both my 2010 and 2013 have them...but they are not standard across all packages. Mine is Canadian, so standard on the Ultra Premiums...and on your top of the line package as well. In fact, there have been threads here of folks who have not purchased the top of the line package and have added them after the fact - I understand they can be had for a price from supplies like Sewell (I think that's the one)

Well, the temptation became too great and I went ahead and traded for the '09 Pebble Beach yesterday! I really don't think it was very logical, but I do know that I absolutely love the SC430 and want to have one pretyy much forever. Thus, it did make some sense to have one that is virtually brand new that i could baby from here on out.
When I went back to take a second, much closer look, i parked my '06 next to the '09 and did a head-to-head comparison. When I look at my '06 by itself, it looks pretty darn good, but next to the '09, it did look sort of worn down, especially the ecru interior. My seat belts are terminally stained and the leather shows the 54k miles in wear (from someone other than me). I have many small rock chips on the front of the hood that have been touched up in an ametuerish way. The '09 was flawless in every respect, inside and out (and even underneath). It still smells new inside! The first owner had the clear plastic front hood cover applied, and there isn't a chip to be found.
Anyway, thanks for my Club Lexus friends' advice as I was agonizing! Oh, and I did confirm the '09 does have the lighted door sills, they just look different from the ones on my '06.
I'll try to post some pics soon of my new baby.

Thanks for all the encouraging words from my new Club Lexus friends! The bottom line was that I could afford it and I absolutely LOVE the SC430, so why not have the nicest one I could find.
I did end up trading in the '06. The dealer basically gave me exactly what I had paid from CarMax ($26k) while selling his '09 Pebble Beach for $42k. I really thought was pretty aggressive, since NADA shows clean retail for the '09 at $45790 (and didn't even have a way to indicate the car was the Pebble Beach Edition). I could have probably sold my car for a bit more myself via Craigslist or Ebay, but I'd lose the tax advantage of trading (and would have to deal with lots of craigslist scammers).
My only request to the dealer (haven't heard his final answer) was to to swap out the OEM Dunlop run-flats on the '09 with the nearly new Continentals (DWS) currently on my '06. Hope the rims are the same size! Does anyone know if the rims are identically sized? I hope he allows it, as those Dunlops do run pretty harshly!
I should take delivery tomorrow. Pretty excited! Thanks again to all who chimed in with advice/encouragement!

Great tip, huy33! I actually did notice that there was a spare set of mats in the trunk, and was wondering what that was all about. Just one more perk of having a Pebble Beach Edition, I guess! Thanks.
