have a 2005 model - has a reversing camera
just bought a 2008 model which DOES NOT haved a reversing camerais it a LEXUS option that I can have installed?
anyone know the best supplier to get this done in Sydney? what cost?

No sc 430 ever came with a backup camera, nor was it ever an option. Many of us added one to our nav by adding Navtool (which will give you an additional input to your nav ) and buying a camera. I am in the process of upgrading my camera that shows distance lines (so you know how much distance is behind you) and am changing the camera screen to my pioneer head unit so it will no longer be necessary to have the nav door open. Of course I will have my head unit door open, which I usually do, so I can operate the Internet function of my pioneer. I'm getting it done tomorrow. Cameras can be had for $30-60 on places like amazon +labor. I added mine right after buying my SC in 2008. It's a great upgrade. Now, if I could add blind spot monitors!!!

There is no option from Lexus BUT there is options aftermarket.

The most popular one is NavTool plus a a license plate camera. Installation is all done in the trunk.

that is such a good idea. I want one now. How much was the cost of the navtool and labor? backup sensors would be awesome too.

Highly recommend luxury Motorworks. Steve is the owner as well as inventor of luxlink. Ironically, Steve upgraded my camera to one that has distance lines in it so you can tell exactly what distance you have behind you. He just did that last week. He also did some micro adjustments from the shop that installed my pioneer head unit-leaving the gap of the stereo door 4mm too big, and did my synthetic oil change. Steve is a very knowledgable guy when it comes to the sc 430. he is not cheap, but he is reasonable. i trust him more than my lexus dealer. His shop is in Monrovia, off the 210, just west of the 610.
