Default SC430 vs cement mixer truck

Waiting two minutes to finish my lane change and being 75% in the lane with ten feet between my baby and the truck, the truck driver either forgot I was there or his blind spot is larger than 30 feet and this is what happens. I feared for my life as he pushed me about five feet and I thought he was going to drive right over me. Fortunately, my wife and I are fine-no injuries! My poor baby had this same quarter repaired a couple of years ago when I had a blowout that took out the same quarter

A side note that the highway patrolman was stunned that my SC was an 02, stating most year old cars don't look as my SC. After the tow truck driver got to the body shop, he too was surprised. He thought my SC was one or two years old. On the other hand the guys at the body shop knew the car and filled in the tow truck driver on my 12 year old 39k mile baby!

Now the waiting game.

Glad you were ok! Close call. Trucks wipe out cars all the time on I-81 in this part of Pa. Scary here!

Any truck drivers out there. Would his blind spot really be over 30 feet in front of him?

Oh man! I am sorry for your baby but so glad you and your wife are fine. That last picture could be reconstructed in your garage collection area ...

Thanks, guys. I appreciate the comments. Very glad the truck driver came to realize that he was driving through a car! He jumped out and said I cut him off! This is after stopping for stopped traffic for 2 minutes! When I felt the SC sliding sideways I really was concerned he wouldn't stop until it was too late. What a relief when he finally hit the brakes. Funny how the body shop guys seemed to have an attachment from the blowout fiasco. At the time they wanted to know if I wanted to sell it. Not then-not now. They told the tow truck driver how low the mileage is and how I treat it. Can't imagine ever having a replacement for my baby. The funny thing is my wife just retired last week and I told her at the start of this drive that she has to get used to being in the SC, because it is my main driver when the temp is between 70-85 which is nearly everyday. Two weeks ago I bought her a camry hybrid-but, hey it was between 70-85! Not sure we would of fared as well if it was camry vs concrete truck.

Glad to hear that both of you are okay. Sorry to hear about the accident. OTOH, the damage looks fairly minor compared to what it could have been considering that it was a concrete truck. I hope that insurance and repairs are quick, painless and do a good job.

Glad to hear you ate ok. You changed lanes 10 feet in front of a cement mixer? They don't stop very well.

Traffic was stopped for two minutes. Both the truck and I weren't moving and this is when there was 10 feet plus my sc. When traffic started moving again, he ran in to me. I thought the total of 30 feet was enough to see me. My rear quarter panel was hit by his right front tire
