Hi All,
The heated seat on the driver side does not work. I replaced the switch (near the center console) and checked the fuse, but it still doesn't work. The light on the switch comes on, but no heat. Any suggestions or references to other threads are much appreciated. Cheers

1. Try to measure the resistance of the heating circuit in the seat. If it goes to infinity then the heating element or feeder wire to it may be broken internally in the seat assy. which is going to be a P.I.T.A. to fix.

2. There will be some sort of seat overheat thermo' switch. I do not know where it is located in the seat wiring, but there is a chance that it is pop out re-settable item that I've seen elsewhere.

3. Check under the seat for a simple disconnected of the wire from the car wiring loom to the heaters. A back seat passengers foot may have broken the connection.

4. Check the output of the seat heater wiring from the body to the seat connection. This should give you a good idea where to concentrate your troubleshooting time. IE power confirmed; car is fine, therefore problem is in seat and vice versa.

My seat heaters were working less than spectacularly when I bought the car used (just have had the car a couple of months now). As I finally got the courage to open up the console to try to clean up the audio door, I noticed that there was a good bit of darkness on the switch to the seat heaters. I was hoping that they had not fried/burnt, so I got out the trusty contact cleaner and sprayed - and smelled the aroma of dark beer. I suddenly realized that the console seemed to have been sealed rather than simply attached with the clips. Got out cleaner and the sweet smell went away.

About an hour later I took a drive and the seats were nice and warm - I had forgotten to turn off the heaters when reassembling the seats.

Check the contact and make sure a spill did not occur at some time, reducing current.

This is a common problem on the SC. It's likely the heating coils in the seat. It can be fixed, but it's probably not worth it.

I had this exact same problem nearly two years ago. It was a dealer fix under extended Lexus Platinum warranty and they changed the switch mechanism which did not work, then changed the seat bottom ( plus new leather ) which did not work, then changed the seat back ( plus new leather ), which finally fixed it. So I have a new switch, and nearly a whole new seat, courtesy of Lexus Platinum. Only my headrest is original, plus the seat frame/housing I guess.
