more pics
I went ahead and soundproofed the rear wall. I noticed noise from there with the top up after I did the rest of the tub. In the pictures above, the 15.2 ohm reading was from the new speaker.

I am trying to find the photo but I seemed to have deleted it. I can build you a new one if you really need it? Let me know...
Also, good work fj40! Great photos! As I said, I'm no audiophile but I really enjoy this sub quite a bit, especially since we're so short on options to keep everything stock. Delivers the punch I was missing and for $40 and an hour of labor, i'm pretty happy. Hopefully you also agree. Let us know what you think.

Very happy with it. With the Rockford in front and this it in the rear, it is hard to see anything in my rear view mirror due to it shaking!! I am loving it.
Note: I did "best offer" on ebay and got it for $30 !

Awesome! Glad you approve! I've also got the same RF for the doors and also got 4" two way 4ohm RF's for the rear. Now, I just have to find time to take it all apart and install them along with some sound matting. And while i have the door panels open I will repair the mids and the tweeters, too. The projects never end.

Can you please tell me what RF model number you have (for the fronts)? I might need to change mine as well. Are they 2 way?
#36
Ok I think I have the model: PPS8-6. 8 ohm. This is a direct fit with the adapter, right? Depth not an issue?
Thanks in advance.

Oh, whoever asked if it was direct fit with adapter.... not quite. you have to resize the adapter a little and drill a couple holes. Nothing that a jig saw and drill can't fix.

How about the fronts, where did you get your pair of PPS8-6's?

Great thanks. On the Crutchfield website, this unit does not show up as compatible.

Seen these on fleabay and they a bit cheaper.

As long as they fit and they rock, might get them on fleabay.

Question: Will these RF PPS8-6 speaker be driven with our ML amp without issues?
Is there is enough ump from our ML head unit to hear the good base, equal to or better than the stock ML front door speaker?
Please say yes so I can pull the trigger...
