The only reason(s) why the SO wants to buy it and fix it is because 1. Right next to our house there is a bodyshop owned by Mexicans that do a pretty good job and for cheap. They fix the quarter panel on my Supra for only $500 and thats when everyone else wanted $1000-$2000. 2. We have a friend thats a mechanic. He works on Supras, GS, SC, IS, pretty much anything Toyota related. He does it for a pretty decent price as well.
Idk, I'm just trying to add up all the pros and cons.
I also see some people on CL selling hoods, fenders, bumpers for $100 each. Thats alot cheaper than eBay.

I have no idea, I find out tomorrow when I'm not working.
if say that title is clear and not a framed car for under 10k total spent is a deal.
I'm not sure on the state of the title yet. But so far I been quoted for $3k for under the hood, $1000-$1500 for the car itself, $2000-$3000 for bodywork. So it totals up to $6000 on the low end and $7500 on the upper end.
I was always told not to buy a "basket case" buy something that you can drive and fix or upgrade as you go along. I think it's going to be a while before it's driveable. IMHO
It looks like a parts car to me. If it weren't a convertible, it might be worth fixing.
Exactly. I think of most car repairs as two diminsional. If it fits, your done. With a convertible it adds another diminsion and is very difficult to repair.
The frame didn't look too that bad. However, the interior was a hot mess. A number of it was missing, so for that reason we passed on it. Thanks for all the input CL
