Default LED backup lights

Has anyone tried the LED backup lights? The ads I have seen have been pretty inviting. I know the ones on my 2002 is not very good. The ones I saw were $40.00 pr and all you had to do was remove the lens and replace the bulbs. Anyone had experience with them?

The back up lights i bought were from a CL sponsor. They are cree LED. They are incredible bright and are worth the money search our forum sponsors.

They install by twisting the bulb assemble from under the car. They take 5 minuites to install

I have them as well. OBP when he visited me last weekend noticed it. I actually forgot that I replaced my back up lights with LED. Very cool. Mine was from iJDMtoy.

I think it is a replacement 7440 if not mistaken.

Yes, i can testify that mandyfig's back up lights are great looking bright white LEDs. I just ordered a set of 7440 LEDs and verified the install is just like mrblister said so I will join the club in a week.

I think it was $ 15 for a pair of 7440 compatible LEDs.

Quite a surprise when OBP told me my back up lights were brigther. That's my problem on my RX330 as well. But RX330 has such a small housing that you can not really get a good set of replacements.

Steve,

Good to see your car again. Love the tails (that's aftermarket right?). Also noticed that OBP recently polished his tails as well. Your color lends well to the blacked out emblems, too.

Thanks Mandy

Here is a couple of pics of my exhaust being fitted and it it shows the tails a little clearer.

Thanks for the guidance on the correct bulb for the back up's. I wouldn't say they were brighter than the OEM, but they look much better than stock.
Probably find that the cree bulbs are brighter as mrblister said.

Cheers

I bought the led backup bulbs 7440. However I did not know there were two different lengths. They are suppose to send me the shorter one next week.

Update on the backup lights.
I did not think the 45smd LED bulbs were bright enough so bought the Cree LED's suggested by mrblister and fitted them today.
Shame they are hidden inside the lamp as they are the same colour as my car. lol
Look at the difference between the 45smd's and the Cree and the pictures are in full daylight.
Wow they are amazing, so much brighter, well worth the extra.

Best regards
Steve
