I purchased my 07 SC430 late last year and it has been in winter storage until yesterday. The car has Dunlop SP Sport 5000 run flat tires with roughly 12,000 miles on them. I am not sure that I notice an unusually rough ride, but then I have always has some type of sports car for my fun car. I would appreciate anyone commenting with their experience with this tire.

I hated my SC430 with those tires. I felt every pebble I rode over. It felt like I was riding on steel rims without any rubber. I thought the suspension components were being beaten up.

I had Michelin Super Sports installed and I now love the way the car rides. SMOOOTH, just like a Lexus.

Last year I picked up a screw in one of my nearly new run flats. I took it to America’s tire as I really like their service and they would not fix it. Just remember a reputable tire dealer will most likely not repair a run flat tire.
Also they did not have one in stock and would have to order it. Imagine that you were half way to where you are going! This is the horror story you hear from travelers.

Anyway this gave me the push to move to non-run flats and OMG what a difference in ride and reduced noise. To give me peace of mind I ordered a spare tire kit from Lexus Sewell and it did not take that much room in the trunk.

My advice is to dump the run flats and have reparable tires that are quieter and rides better.

Well said watson4664!

I agree with you totally, and have done likewise.

Best regards,
Dan
