Default 2005 SC430 Battery Drainage

To the gentleman who was experiencing battery drainage on his SC430. Did you ever get this fixed? We have a 2005 SC430 & are having the same problem. We had a Viper autostart put in 2 months ago & it seems ever since then the battery is dead after a few days of not running. Lexus dealer tested & found nothing wrong. Company that installed starter ran electronic checks, battery charge, alternator, etc. & found nothing. HELP!

I have never been on a vehicle forum that had as many threads about tough-to-diagnose current draw as for the SC 430. These cars seem to drink in more current at rest than most, which also seems to be exacerbated by certain aftermarket devices.

The thing that baffles me is that the current draw should be apparent with an appropriate ammeter in series with the battery, and simply pulling fuses should show the magnitude of the draw for each of the offending circuits.

Why are these so hard to diagnose? Is it because the size of the base draw cannot tolerate even a moderately weakened battery?

Just musing.

I have a 2005 also with luxlink and other mods. the only mod I know that uses current at rest is the luxlink other then what the stock current draw was. My car is a garage queen and before I installed the luxlink my batttery would not start the car aftter 3 weeks of sitting. I have been using a battery tender plus [ very low charge rate ] hooked up all the time and the battery seems to be ok for starting and driving around town. I cant tell you what would happen if i left it off the charger for say a week, The battery that came with the car in nov of 2005 was replaced in june of 2006 I believe it was low because I was not using a charger. Its been fine since . I may need to replace it soon. Its six years old
