Battery draw when off...how many mA?
#2
Excellent question.
I'd also like to know what a stock SC430 draws when off.
I've killed a few batteries over the past several years and have considered busting out the ammeter to see what my current draw is but, without a baseline, I'm not sure how much good my measurement would do.
A non-LuxLink-a-fied SC430 would be perfect.

I picked up my new '07 today with 11,600 miles on it. First thing I did was drive to pep-boys to replace the battery with the Bosch. I used my Fluke 87 one ampre mode in series with the battery.
You need to wait a minute or so after the battery has been reconnected before you measure the amps because stuff happens when power is first applied like the cd changer figuring out how many cds are in it.
Eventually, after a minute, it settled down to 0.008 amps or 8 mA. For reference, a 6 watt dome light is 500 mA. So 62 hours at 8 mA is light running a 6 watt dome light for 1 hour. i.e. it would take a very long time to drain the battery, but it would eventually do so after 6 months.
Has anyone else measured? Is this consistent?
