Proud new owner; question about wheels
I just purchased a 2006 Black Onyx SC430 over the weekend. I love it!
I already have a ES300 and a RX330. So I already know about the Lexus quality.
I have run flats on this SC430 and they are still in good shape. I have read alot of posts on here about how bad they are. They don't seem all that bad. I can hardly feel anything in my RX and ES and almost get sleepy sometimes driving them. The SC will be my fun little car, so it is a nice change up. I may look into changing them when they wear out though, just for better handling.
If I stay with the 18 size wheels, will the newer wheels from the LS, GS, or IS fit on the SC430 without any issues? I want to get a chrome wheel to go with the nice black paint! I noticed that it looks like the SC wheel is 8" wide. I see alot of the LS and GS on Ebay saying 7.5 for those cars.

Congrats and welcome to the SC section of the forum ! Go 20" on the Wheels, Staggered with a custom fit that actually built for the car. The stock wheels sit way to far inside the fender. It looks much better when the edge of the wheel meets the edge of the fender.

Thanks for the welcome and tip! I did exactly what you mentioned and love it! I went with a 20 inch staggered setup. I was afraid that the ride would be real bad on 20s. But the ride is nice and smooth!! It may be hard to see in the pictures, but the back wheels have wide polished lips. The wheels are polished with black accents.

Welcome b3player, and congrates on your new ride. I'm sure you will love it even more now that you have gotten rid of the run flats. I know we enjoy ours a lot more now than when we had the runflatson. We stayed with the stock wheel and just changed the "pie tins".

Tire and wheel sizes
The front tires are: 225/35ZR-20
The rear tires are: 275/30ZR-20
I am not sure about offset; he just mentioned offset was high to clear caliper.
The car rides great!

What did you do with the stockers? Were thy pie plates or "star" style. Reason I ask is that I am looking for a wheel and tire (stock). I'm also heading over to the for sale board to take a look.

SC430 OEM wheels (8" +45 ) have high offsets, but still can't clear bbk.
The optional Tourmaline wheels (8" +45) can clear bbk easily.
Since SC430 has small calipers, it will be very difficult to find any new modern 18"+ rims that can't clear them. lol

Wheel offsets have nothing to do with caliper clearance. it is the wheel disk types that determin the caliper clearance.
