Default Engine lag / gag. Help?

I am just noticing a lag or gag in the RPM's when lightly pressing the accelerator around 1500 rpms. I have never noticed this before. It is very short and the engine recovers but it is noticable and the rpms dip down. I have a K& N dropin air filter. Any ideas?

Sounds like its time to retrain the ECU.

You mean retrain? I have to disconnect the battery a while for that right? Thanks!

Yes...or if you search there is a another way but it involves pushing the pedals, turning the key in sequence, stomping your feet and standing on your head while reciting the alphabet backward on a Wednesday....OK maybe not those last parts...but you can reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for a period of time, or find the not so secret sequence to accomplish the same. But after it is reset you need to teach it.
BTW when was the last time the throttle body and MAF sensor were cleaned?

Or maybe try cleaning your throttle body.

Great advise! I did find the secret handshake and it even worked on a Tuesday. I am leaving the pwr mode on to ehnace the training. I dont notice the lag at all anymore. I have not yet cleaned the throttle body or MAF sensor - I will do that! I did recently use a bottle of Techron.

Secret

Turn key to on but not the engine
Floor the accelator pedal and wait 5 seconds
Release the pedal
Turn the key off but dont remove it yet
Wait about two minutes
Remove key

You will notice the fuel ecu is reset but not your other setting like seat, radio, mirrors etc.

Hi there. Talked to Mike on Thur on said they were shipping out but still no tracking notice. Perhaps this week. The wheels beat them even with the refinishing. I'm excited about the markers. Will likely do the rears too but next year.

Yes there is a write up on cleaning the MAF sensor. I don't have that thread but I do have the link that it posted to the instructions.

How strange. It was there on the 20th when I posted it because I brought it up. I made a copy of the instructions and it is attached.
