Default Bang Knee/Poke eye?

Just wondering if anyone else does one or both of these when entering our cars with the windows/top down?

I think i bang my knee on the steering column 10% of the time, and come thisclose to poking my eye out every time on the pointy thing with the small tweeter in it when i get in.

Health hazard if you're not careful!

Do you have your steering wheel retract after the key is removed? That helps. As for the triangular piece part of the door holding the tweeter & rear view mirros, I tend to place my left hand either on the A pillar or am kind of backing in rear end first (with my right foot in the footwell) and that tends to keep my head away from getting in that space.

Of course, most of the time, my top is up when I'm getting in since I almost never walk away from the car without putting the top back up for security, rain and bird reasons. But then again, I don't have a Luxlink either.

Or perhaps: Health hazard if you're a klutz.
There are always new things to learn with every new car.
As for my SC, I learned quite a few.
But first, and I hardly do anything butt first, but getting behind the wheel is one thing I often do butt first.
With a car this low to the ground, it helps a lot.

Agreed - butt first.

Although I enter butt first because of a severe problem with my lower back, I would enter butt first anyway with a car this low. Getting in the RX foot first is no problem.

Relatively unknown fact that entrance and exit from a low/sports car should always be with 2 feet on the ground. I was told this by a road racer. Saves your back and hitting your head. Although I will jump in like Starsky and Hutch on occasion!! : )

I have more trouble getting out than in. Steering wheel is never in the way for me; it retracts far enough. I do pivot around to get out and find myself pushing off from the door sill/rocker panel point. I should think it's easier to get in and out with the top down than up. Of course, I do remember when I first bought the car I really pulled my back out trying to get out incorrectly.

When I exit the car, I place my left foot out and hold on to the door's arm rest and push the door open. The momentum of the door actually helps pull me out. (Sometimes I'll leave my right foot in the foot well and use it to push off of the floor as I get out.)
