Default Why exactly won't the TRD 2nd Gen GS Sways Fit?

Hello all. Graduated from the gs430 to a 2002 SC a few weeks ago. 99k Silver with Black. The last 7 years serviced by Lexus. The only thing needed to be done were plugs, motor mount, tranny mount ans the stock speakers. RTV'd the rears. Replaced 6x9's with 6.5 8 ohm Cadence off eBay for $50. They sound great btw. Did the tranny mount today. Gonna pay for the motor mounts labor. Used our discount with Sewell.

Long story short. My GS has the TRD's wondering why they won't work? I've Been way into the suspension in the GS, the majority of front end parts for the sc share the same part numbers. Any one physically try?

I hope this doesn't seem to noob.

At home with sc430, gs430, es330. So extremely familiar with the cars and have accumulated the tools.

Still not given my GS away, 146k and still rocks!!!

Thanks in advance,

Paige

I am about to install 2GS TRD sways onto my SC430.

From my observation, the front is identical. For the rear, the SC got a structural reinforcement bracket in the way, just have to relocate that bracket to fit the rear sway. SC bar are bent to clear that bracket, GS bar is straight.

I haven't install my bars yet, so I am not 100% sure this is true, but looks that way.

even if just the fronts fit i think that will make a big impact and usually you can find good deals on 2GS sways...very exciting.

Ok, was planning on swapping in the end of July during my vacation. If you could post a photo of front and back done that would be great. Is the difference in weight and diameter noticeable between the two, ie stock sc and TRD blues? Looking forward to this. Keeping fingers crossed.

The difference in diameter is huge! Even stock to stock, the SC bars are smaller then the GS bars, make sense as convertible bars are usually softer for the weaker chassis. So even stock GS bars are stiffer.

I got the TRD white bars as I think the blue bars might be too stiff. From the top of my head, the stock SC bars are 25mm front and 13mm rear. My TRD whites are 31mm front and 16mm rear.

Yes, any sway bars that fit the 2GS would fit the 2SC.

Just on the rear, you have to modify that bracket I was talking about.

Year is not important, they are all the same on the 2GS. From year 98'-05', or any JDM Aristo bars.

I think even the 1IS bars would fit, is all the same chassis, but bars made for the 1IS are not as stiff, is a lighter weight car.

Again, I am just confident enough to buy the bars, I have not install it on my SC430 yet.

Will do.

I had the bars for a while now, the hold up is I don't want to install them until I get lowering springs and Bilstein on the car first. I am also modding my LS430 at the same time, plus I need to work so I can pay for all these stuff Don't have time for everything
